Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable

Ensure access to adequate, safe and affordable housing and basic services by 2030.

Similarly, access to safe, affordable, accessible and sustainable transport systems for all (in particular through the development of public transport and with special attention to the needs of people in vulnerable situations, women, children, people with disabilities and older people ) and improved road safety. Furthermore, to ensure universal access to safe, inclusive and accessible green spaces and public spaces by 2030, especially for women and children, older people and people with disabilities. Reduce urban pollution and significantly reduce the number of deaths and people affected by disasters. In two of these goals, people with impairments/disabilities are specifically named. However, it is also important to consider accessibility in the creation of housing so that adequate housing is made available to people with impairments/disabilities. Likewise, disaster preparedness measures should be designed inclusively so that people with impairments/disabilities are included in the necessary protective measures in emergency situations just like other people.
