Goal 13
Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
Climate protection measures are to be incorporated into national policies, strategies and planning, and resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related hazards and natural disasters are to be strengthened in all countries.
Education and awareness-raising as well as human and institutional capacities are to be improved in order to contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation. Early warning should also be improved.
The poorest and most vulnerable sections of the population are usually particularly affected by the impacts of climate change. Thus, measures to combat climate change are also particularly important for people with impairments/disabilities. When improving early warning systems, care should be taken to ensure that they are designed inclusively so that people with impairments/disabilities are also informed in emergency measures and, like other people, can also bring themselves to safety or are evacuated. Education and awareness-raising measures should be designed inclusively so that people with impairments/disabilities are also enabled to behave in a climate-friendly manner.
