End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture
By 2030, eliminate hunger and malnutrition in all its forms and ensure that all people, especially the poor and those in vulnerable situations, including young children, have access to sufficient and nutritious food.
Agricultural productivity and the income of small farmers are to be doubled. The sustainability of food production systems is to be ensured so that they not only produce sufficient food, but also contribute to the preservation of ecosystems and at the same time become more adaptable to climate change and extreme weather events.
Malnutrition and undernourishment have a major impact on human health. It is therefore important that particularly vulnerable groups, which include people with disabilities, receive special attention in food security measures so that their health status does not deteriorate. Moreover, malnutrition can cause long-term preventable impairments. 20% of all impairments worldwide are a result of inadequate nutrition.
