Monitoring and Review

In order to make the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals verifiable, a committee set up by the UN Secretary-General has developed a proposal for indicators.

This proposal was adopted by the United Nations Statistical Commission in March 2016 and is expected to be adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in September 2016. bezev has been working with other organisations to ensure that there are also indicators to measure the inclusion of people with impairments/disabilities.

To the indicators of the UN

In all SDGs, the aspect of inclusion must be considered and planned from the outset.

As a result of the Rio+20 Conference in 2012, the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) was created at the UN level to replace the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD).

This "High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development" is thus the central body at the United Nations to review the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and to make recommendations. The states report on their implementation by the year 2030 twice at the annual meetings of this body. The meeting takes place every four years at the level of heads of state and government. This year, Germany will already report to this high-level body on implementation in and by Germany.
