Development for All: Disability as an Integral Part in the Global Fight Against Poverty

On 20th October 2004, the international seminar on 'Development for All: Disability as an Integral Part in the Global Fight Against Poverty' took place in Bonn.

The international seminar was organised by Behinderung und Entwicklungszusammenarbeit (bezev) and dedicated its conference programme to the political level, but also in particular to the practical implementation of a Development for All.

The seminar began with a welcoming by Gabriele Weigt of bezev and ended with a summary of the results and final evaluation by Gisa Paul. To get an overall view of the international seminar, you can read both speeches below:

Presentations by the Speakers

In addition to Antje Wilke from the staff of the Federal Government Commissioner for Matters relating to Disabled Persons and Anette Baum from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, who spoke on behalf of government development cooperation, speakers from various national and international organisations/institutions also had their say. Approaches that include all people equally in development efforts and provide them with the necessary resources to develop their abilities and capacities became clear. So that disability becomes an integral part of the global fight against poverty.
