Sustainable Development

The overall theme "Sustainable Development" deals with the sub-themes Agenda 2030, Inclusive Education and Inclusive Health.

Sustainable development means opening up equal development opportunities for all countries, while also taking into account the interests of future generations. To this end, the member states of the United Nations adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015. The 17 goals define the economic, social and ecological dimensions of sustainable development for both the Global South and the Global North.

The 2030 Agenda also represents a major step forward for people with disabilities. The topic of disability is explicitly mentioned in several places. More importantly, the entire agenda is based on the claim "Leave No One Behind".

Along with the Agenda, 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted at the same time to address the most important social, economic and environmental challenges facing humanity by 2030.
