Travel allowance for participation at the Global Disability Summit (GDS)

You can apply here for a travel allowance for your participation at the Global Disability Summit (GDS).

You want to connect and discuss the implementation of inclusion worldwide, together with an international audience? Then participate at the Global Disability Summit (GDS) in Berlin from 1^st -3^rd April 2025.

The GDS is a unique platform that brings together governmental and civil societal actors as well as self-advocates from around the world who aim to improve the lives of people with disabilities worldwide with special emphasis on the Global South. The GDS 2025 is organized by the German Federal Government together with the Jordanian Government and the International Disability Alliance (IDA). Following the motto ‘Nothing about us without us’, the organizers place special emphasis on the active participation of people with disabilities at the event. For this reason, participants who are unable to finance their own travel and stay in Berlin will be given the opportunity to apply for a travel subsidy when registering for the otherwise free event.

If you are interested in attending the GDS, you can apply for a grant to cover your travel costs by writing an informal E-Mail to Birte Weber (weber@bezev.de). The form below isn't working at the moment.

Eligible to apply is everyone who has a disability and is unable to finance their own travel to and stay in Berlin and does not receive any other funding.

90% of your costs for participating in the GDS can be covered. This includes costs for:

• Travel to and from Berlin
• Accommodation for a maximum of 4 nights
• Travel costs and accommodation for the personal assistant

2nd class public transport

Only costs that are directly related to your participation in the GDS can be covered.
