Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all

Achieve universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water and access to adequate sanitation and hygiene for all by 2030.

Furthermore, the aim is to improve water quality worldwide and increase the efficiency of water use in order to significantly reduce the number of people suffering from water scarcity. These include people with impairments/disabilities. Their health can deteriorate even further if they fall ill due to unclean water or lack of/inaccessible sanitation. In order for people with impairments/disabilities to have access to clean drinking water and sanitation facilities, it is necessary that measures in these areas are planned and implemented in a barrier-free and inclusive manner.
