Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

Sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources should be achieved by 2030. This includes the sustainable design of consumption and production patterns, the reduction of global food waste, and the reduction of waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse.

Companies are to be encouraged to adopt sustainable practices and sustainable practices are to be promoted in public procurement. By 2020, to achieve environmentally sound management of chemicals and all wastes in order to minimise their adverse effects on human health and the environment. By 2030, ensure that people everywhere have relevant information and awareness about sustainable development and living in harmony with nature. In order for people with impairments/disabilities to also change their consumption patterns and engage in sustainable production patterns, they need the information in accessible formats. At the same time, activities and campaigns should be designed to be accessible and inclusive so that people with impairments/disabilities can also actively participate.
